Removable teeth, regardless of how well they are made, do not feel or function like natural ones. While some full denture wearers may not have fit problems, but it is not unusual that they may live with pain and irritation of the gums or have difficulty eating or speaking, anxiety of the wearers’ worrying about their dentures slipping causing embarrassment. Another price to pay for edentulism is that Nature assumes that once the teeth are removed there is not more need for bone that supported the teeth. Over time, the bone slowly but progressively diminishes. The shrinking of the bone, if left untreated, will result that a denture will no longer stay in place whether your use best adhesive.
Similar to the roots of natural teeth, metal implants are done directly to the jaw bone. In time, the metal implant and jawbone fuse to create a near natural structure. A small attachment is left protruding through the gum and onto which dentures of bridges can be snapped of screwed. Dentures and bridges that are supported by successful implants are more secured than those in partial dentures or other technique of bridges. Though this procedure is not for everyone as you need to be medically fit and have healthy gums and a sufficient thickness of jaw bone, it is one of the most preferred.
